MARÍA ASURMENDI has signed with Araski for the 2021/22 season

After playing with Larraona most of her youth years, María Asurmendi had her debut in Spanish Liga Femenina 2 with Universidad Pública de Navarra during the 2004/05 season and she averaged 11 points, 2.3 steals and +10 efficiency per game.
In the 2005/06 season, María played with Irlandesas and she averaged 13.2 points, 2.1 assists, 4.3 steals and +14.8 efficiency per game, reaching the playoffs to promote to spanish top division.
María Asurmendi had her debut in Spanish Liga Femenina playing during the 2006/07 season with Burgos, a good team that reached the Queen´s Cup Semifinals and finished the league in 3rd position.
In the 2007 summer, María Asurmendi played with the Spanish National Team the U21 World Championship.
María Asurmendi signed with Extrugasa in the 2007/08 season and again she reached the Liga Femenina playoffs and played the Queen´s cup while also having her debut in Eurocup.
In the 2009/10 season, María Asurmendi signed with Obenasa Navarra and she averaged 7.7 points, 3.1 assists, 2.2 steals and +9.9 efficiency per game, qualifying for the playoffs and promoting to Liga Femenina after María had 8 points, 6 assists, 6 steals and +18 efficiency in the decisive game.
María extended her contract with Obensa Navarra for the 2010/11 and the 2011/12 season, averaging 6.5 points and +5.7 efficiency and 6 points and +4.7 efficiency respectively.
María Asurmendi had a very good 2012/13 season, still playing for Obenasa Navarra and averaging 7.9 points, 3.5 assists and +10.1 efficiency per game, qualifying in the 6th position of Liga Femenina.
In the 2013/14 season, María Asurmendi signed with Cadí La Seu and she averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 assists and +10.3 efficiency per game. She had good games against Conquero (19 points +23 efficiency), Gran Canaria (16 points +20 efficiency) and Ibaizábal (11 points 10 rebounds 6 assists +20 efficiency).
María Asurmendi signed with Conquero Huelva in the 2014/15 season and she averaged 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and +10.8 efficiency per game while reaching reaching the Liga Femenina Semifinals and the Queen´s Cup Final.
In the 2015/16 season, Maria Asurmendi extended her contract with C.B. Conquero and she averaged 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and +8 efficiency per game, becoming Queen´s Cup Champion after defeating Perfumerías Avenida in the Final.
In February 2016, María Asurmendi moved to Perfumerías Avenida and she player three very good months in which she averaged 5.3 points, 3.2 assists and +7.7 efficiency in 19 minutes per game, becoming also Liga Femenina Champion.
In the 2016/17 season, María Asurmendi signed with Gernika and she averaged 8.7 points, 3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and +11.3 efficiency per game.
In the 2017/18 season, María Asurmendi signed back with Perfumerías Avenida and won the Spanish Supercup, the Queen´s Cup and the Spanish League.
María Asurmendi re-signed with Perfumerías Avenida in the 2018/19 season and she averaged 5.4 points in 18 minutes per game and was Spanish Queen´s Cup and Spanish Supercup Champion and also Spanish League Finalist.
In the 2019/20 season, María Asurmendi signed in Spain with Araski and she averaged 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 28 minutes per game.
In the 2020/21 season, María Asurmendi exteded with Araski and she averaged 7.6 points and +6.9 efficiency in 26 minutes per game.
