Nevena Markovic played for Glenbard South High School and she broke the school records in points (38) and assists in a single game (11), being also awarded as conference MVP.

In the 2011/12 season, Nevena Markovic started her college career playing for IUPUI and she averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 22 minutes per game.

Nevena Markovic had a big impact during the 2013/14 season, averaging 11.3 points and 6.4 rebounds in 21 minutes per game with excellent 34% from the 3 point line. In the 2014/15 season and already as a senior player, Nevena Markovic averaged 11.2 points and 6.3 rebounds in 21 minutes per game with 43% from the 3 point line, receiving an All-Summit Honorable mention.

Nevena Markovic started her professional career in Spain, signing with Gran Canaria for the 2015/16 season and averaging 7.5 points, 7 rebounds and +8.7 efficiency in 26 minutes per game, having great games against Gernika (25 points), Conquero (17 points 12 rebounds +28 efficiency) and Añares Rioja (15 points 15 rebounds +27 efficiency - MVP of the Week).

In the 2016/17 season, Nevena Markovic signed in Hungary with PINKK Pecs and she averaged 9 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19 minutes per game in Hungarian League (with 48% from the 3 point line) and 8 points and 7.5 rebounds in 25 minutes per game in Eurocup, shining against MBA Moscow (17 points) and AGU Spor (10 points and 12 rebounds).

In the 2018/19 season, Nevena Markovic signed in Slovakia with Ruzomberok and she won both the Slovakian League and Cup, averaging 4.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.6 efficiency in 15 minutes per game in League and 4.4 points and 4.9 rebounds in 16 minutes per game in the Eurocup.

In the 2019/20 season, Nevena Markovic began in Spain with Mann Filter Zaragoza and in January 2020 she signed with Ostrava, averaging 13.5 points, 10 rebounds and +17.9 efficiency per game in Czech League and 10.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in the EEWBL.
