Ugo Oha signs with Lider Pruszkow

Ugo Oha, current MVP and best rebounder in Polish PLKK has signed with Lider Pruszkow, team that finished the past Polish league in fifth position.

Ugo Oha is a 1,93m nigerian center with american Passport (Cotonou) who after starring at George Washington was the 24th pick in  the 2004 WNBA Draft by Connecticut Sun  before starting her career in Europe and averaging 13 points 9,9 rebounds (best rebounder in the league) and 20,1 in efficiency (best in the league) for LKS Siemens Lodz in Polish 2010-11 season.

Ugo Oha career begins at Hastings High School from where she joins George Washington in 2000-1, averaging 9,2 points and 4,8 rebounds in her freshman year and being named in the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie Team.

In the 2001-02 season and as sophomore, Ugo Oha averages 13,1 points 6,8 rebounds and 2,8 blocks per game and is named in the Atlantic 10 First Team and also as Defensive Player of the Year in the same conference.

Ugo keeps improving and as a junior she averages 15,4 points 6,9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game, being named in the conference first defensive team and in the global second team.

In the 2003-04 and as a senior player, Ugo averages 13,8 points 7,1 rebounds and 3,3 blocks per game, being again the defensive player of the year in the conference and achieving the career maximum blocks in the story of George Washington with 354.

After finishing her college career,  Ugo Oha was selected in the 24th pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft in 2004, behind players like Cathy Joens (29), Ieva Kublina (31), Jia Perkins (35) or Nuria Martínez (36).

In the 2004 summer, Ugo Oha played the Olympic Games with Nigeria, with whom she has played diferente competitions, winning the gold medal in the 2005 African Championship.

Ugo Oha begins her professional career playing for Shanghai Octopus in China where she averages 12,9 points and 8 rebounds and later she signs with Maccabi Ashdod in Israel and averaging 13,9 points and 8,8 rebounds per game in the 2004-05 season.

After a short experience in Spain (Burgos) in 2005-06, Ugo signed with Rhonda Rebbels in England to play the 2006-07 Fiba Cup and had a short replacement in TTT Riga in March.

After a couple of years out of european play, Ugo Oha signed with LKS Siemens Lodz in 2009-10, averaging 8,8 points 9,4 rebounds (fourth best rebounder), 1,5 blocks (fourth shotblocker) and 15 in efficiency in Polish 1st division.

In the 2010-11 season, Ugo Oha stays in Lodz, averaging 13 points 9,9 rebounds and 20,1 in efficiency with 53,6% from the field and being the league best rebounder and best player in efficiency in the Polish 1st division and also recieving a League Honorable Mention and being named in the Import First Team.

Ugo Oha shines in the two games against AZS Poznan with 29 points and 13 rebounds and with 21 points and 10 rebounds and also with 22 points and 15 rebounds with Euroleague´s Gorzow with Leuchanka, Piekarska, Kalana Green or Johannah Leedham.
