Tijana Krivacevic signs with Rivas Ecópolis (+VIDEO)
Rivas Ecópolis has announced today the signing of one of the best young posts in Europe, hungarian Tijana Krivacevic.
Tijana Krivacevic is a 1.92m post player born in 1990 who arrives from Sopron until the end of the season and who despite her age hast already played in 4 Euroleagues (she averaged 12,3 points and 4,1 rebounds in the 2010-11 edition, shining against Rivas with 20 points in each game and with 21 in the win against Ros Casares) and has been WNBA drafted by the Seattle Storm.
With this signing, Rivas Ecópolis gets a very talented player and with good size to play the 4 in Europe and even the 5 in some situations.
For Tijana, this will be her first pro experience outside Hungary and a good opportunity to continue growing in her path of becoming one of the best posts in Europe.
Tijana´s career began at MiZo Pecs, where still as a junior player she averaged 5,5 points in 11 minutes per game in Euroleague and 11,9 points and 3,9 rebounds in Hungarian League.
Tijana Krivacevic inked a three year contract with Sopron in the 2008-09 season and averaged 8,2 points and 4,1 rebounds in Euroleague and 11 points and 3,2 rebounds in Hungarian League.
Tijana´s good performance helped Sopron to reach the Euroleague Final Four which was held in Salamanca and also to win the hungarian league.
Tijana produceD similar numbers during the 2009-10 season, 8,6 points and 3 rebounds per game in Euroleague and 12 points and 3,8 rebounds in Hungary.
In the 2010 summer, Tijana Krivacevic was selected as the 34th pick in the WNBA Draft by Seattle Storm.
Tijana stayed in Sopron during the 2010-11 season and kept improving to produce 12,3 points and 4,1 rebounds in Euroleague where Sopron reached the eight finals before losing in the third game against Ros Casares.
Tijana had a great game in the second with 21 points and 5 rebounds.
Tijana Krivacevic averaged 11,4 points and 7,5 rebounds in the 2006 U16 European Championship and 13,3 points and 6,8 rebounds in the 2007 U18 European Championship.
In 2009, Tijana played the Qualifying Round with the senior national team and also the U20 European Championship where she averaged 16 points and 7,5 rebounds per game.
In the 2010 summer, Tijana Krivacevic was a key player for the hungarian senior national team, averaging 11,6 points and 6 rebounds per game in the Qualifying Round for the 2011 European Championship.
