Joventut Mariana made public the signing of Bulgarian Stefka Miteva for the 2010-11 season.
Miteva is a 1,90m and just 20years old center with experience in Bulgarian 1st division. She averaged 14,4 points and 11,8 rebounds for Rilski Sportist Samokov in the 2008-09 season and she also has experience with Bulgarian youth national teams, thing that has helped her to be selected this summer to play with the Bulgarian Senior National team that coaches Spanish Chema Buceta and that will play the Qualifying Round for European Championship 2011.
Last season, Stefka joined Aros Leon in Spanish 2nd division, but due to burocratic problems she couldn´t make her debut. Later she moved to Mallorca and was practicing hard with Soller during half season. Her work was enough so that the team was real interested in having her back for the 2010-11 season.
Jorge Méndez, Joventut Mariana´s coach says:: “Stefi is a young inside player that will compensate her lack of experience at top level with lot of work, intensity and a lot of enthusiasm. She is a player with a born skill fro rebounds. She is a player that we think can have a very bright future but that we also think that she can already help us this season”.
