A Spanish Point Guard María Asurmendi play next season in the Andalusian team CB Conquero, who turns his third season in Spanish Women's League.
María Asurmendi is a Spanish Point Guard 1.67 m born in 1986 with extensive experience in Spanish Women's League, which this season has averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 assists and +10.3 efficiency playing for Cadi - ICG Software.
I think I'm an electric player, with great character. I think that's what sets me on the track and I think that over the years I have become more vision and control on the track.
After seven seasons in women's league, what changed Mary Asurmendi?
After all, the experience is a plus and it is true that from the first year to play in LF to the last, I think I've taken a step in maturity, knowledge of the game, the league, the players and I think that ... has helped me grow as a player and know me adapt to what each team needed me at all times
Did you expect this performance after the disappearance and subsequent exit your UNB? How did you feel during last season Cadi ICG Software?
UNB output was quite hard for me because it meant a major change, not only for failing to represent the team of my country, but because it had been four years at home with a stable environment, with all my people, my family, etc.. And the end is a comfort for many years I've had at my disposal last year and having to leave UNB changed all that.
The performance that I had this year in La Seu not know if it was expected or not. I have felt very comfortable and especially thanks to Andreu Bou, who has trusted me so much and taught me many things. When you feel that someone trusts you, play quieter and you get many more things you can get when you have more pressure.
I'm happy with the season I've done in La Seu. I feel a little sorry we have been a bit irregular and end the season has been good but I think we could have gotten more. Anyway I'm very happy with my time in La Seu and very grateful for the treatment received and how they have treated me forever.
What do you think you can bring to Conquero next season?
I think I'm capable of leading the team basis, I think I can do several things like defend, I can run, I can score at certain times.
In the end I'll specializing shooting three, but I think the good that I have is that I can threaten from anywhere in shot three penetrations in assists, defensive ... I've always tried to be as complete a player possible for the defense to rivals more difficult, because when you're only known for one thing, the end defenses in the Women's League are simpler.
This is what I can bring to Conquero, address and adapt to the different needs of the team.
Been a few weeks ago between elected to contest the Women's League Challenge vs. LF2, how was that experience?
I am very happy, for me the fact that we could live the Challenge has been a wonderful experience where I shared a weekend with the best players in the Women's League. It was a reward for the season.
