Spanish point guard Lorena Infante has signed with Ceprimini Construzioni Orvieto in Italian 1sts Division for the 2012-13 season, in which will be her first professional experience out of Spain.
Lorena arrives to Orvieto after guiding Jopisa Burgos to a good 2011-12 season in which she averaged 9.7 points 5.4 assists 3.9 rebounds and 13 in efficiency per game in the year in which she broke the historial assists record in Spanish First Division and was also the League best point guard in efficiency. After signing Lorena, Orvieto completes an interesting roster where she will be one of the key players together with Shamela Hampton and Aishah Sutherland. Lorena Infante has been the League Leader in Assists, the MVP among all point guards in efficiency, the fifth player that drew more fouls and she also broke the record of most assists in a single season by any player in the History of Spanish Women Basketball with 141. In previous seasons, the best passers were Paola Ferrari (2010-11) with 108, Laia Palau (2009-10) with 101, Silvia Domínguez (2008-09) with 106 and Silvia Morales (2007-08). Lorena Infante was the best point guard in the League, averaging 13.0 in efficiency and surpassing Cristina Ouviña (11.3), Shona Thorburn (10.2), Silvia Dominguez (8.9), Marta Xargay (8.8), Laia Palau (7.5), Elisa Aguilar (5.5) or Noemí Jordana (4.9). Lorena shone against Navarra with 20 points 5 assists and 14 points and 7 assists, against Vigo and Ibiza with 17 points and 5 assists in each game and dished 10 assist against Hondarribia, 9 assists against Girona and 8 assists against Ros Casares and Sedis Cadí. Lorena Infante arrived to Burgos in the second half of the 2010-11 season after being the 3rd best passer in Spanish 1st Division 2010-11. Lorena helped Burgos to return to Liga Femenina averaging 11,2 points 4,5 rebounds 4,7 assists and 13 in efficiency in Regular Season, increasing her performance in playoffs to 12,7 points 4 reobunds and 7 assists per game and 20 in efficiency. In the Final Game that took Burgos back to 1st Division she had 16 points 6 rebounds and 7 assists with 22 in efficiency. Before Olesa and Burgos, Lorena had also played in other 1st Division teams like Ibiza (playing FIBA Cup), Badajoz or Cortegada.
