Born in Madrid in 1983, Hdez-Sonseca has become the new center of the Iraian team Afra Khalij Fars. Hdez-Sonseca is the second Spanish player in participating in the Superleague of the persian country, during the season 2008/2009 Oscar Yebra was a part of Mahram. With this sign, Hdez-Sonseca leaves behind twelve years as a profesional player in the top Spanish and European leagues.
Eduardo Hernández-Sonseca has signed with the Afra Khalij Fars from the Iranian Superleague. Hdez-Sonseca begins his first season away from the Spanish basketball where he has gone through clubs like Real Madrid, Joventut Badalona, CB Valladolid, Bilbao Basket, ... and where he has won numerous titles as two ULEB Cups, ACB Championship, the Copa del Rey, ...
The plight of the Spanish basketball has pushed the player to not reject a contract as interesting as the one offered by the Iranian club.
In Tehran Hdez-Sonseca will find Sergio Sanchez (Trainer) and Miguel Angel Zapata Perez (Assistant Coach and Head of Scouting).
No doubt that Afra Khalij Fars is the more Spanish team ever seen in the Middle East. Good luck to everyone!
