Dionne Pounds is a 1,74m Finnish international guard with american experience (she averaged 16,2 points per game in Lamar 2006-07) and also in Finland where she averaged 24,1 points 6,7 rebounds 3,6 assists and 3,9 steals per game in the 2010-11 season.
Dionne moved to United States when she was 17 and first played in John Muir High School, later in Pasadena City College, averaging 17 points and 5 rebounds per game in 2005 and finally in 2005 recieved a scholarship to play at Lamar, averaging 10,3 points and 3,8 rebounds per game in the 2005-06 season and 16,2 points 3,5 rebounds and 2,5 assists per game in the 2006-07 season.
Once her college career was over, Dionne Pounds played in Finnish first division with PeKa, averaging 13,9 points and 4,1 rebounds in the 2007-08 season and 15,8 points and 4,6 rebounds in the 2008-09 season.
Dionne signed with Honsu in the 2009-10 season where she averaged 16,5 points 4,2 rebounds and 3,2 steals per game in 2009-10 and had a breakout season in 2010-11 averaging 24,1 points 6,7 rebounds 3,6 asissts and 3,9 steals per game, scroing 63 three pointers in 27 games.
Dionne was the second top scorer in the league, the second best in steals per game and the best passer in Finnish League.
Dionne has been an important player in Finnish National Teams, playing in 2002 and 2004 in the U18 and U20 European Championships and also after returning to Europe she contributed in the Qualifying Round for the 2011 European Championship with 10,2 points and 2,6 rebounds in 24 minutes per game against Turkey,Hungary,Montenegro,Bulgaria,Ukraine and Netherlands National Teams.
Dionne Pounds is a strong scoring guard who can play both the 1 and the 2 position, with a great ability to draw foulds and a really dangerous threat from the three point range, where she feels comfortable shooting from any distance.
