Cris Garcia returns to LF1 with 13 points in 12 minutes and 17 eff. (+VIDEO)
Five years after leaving UB Barça, Cristina García returned to Spanish Liga Femenina and she did it with Sedis Cadí, the same team with whom she had her debut in the competition in 2002.
Despite her 13 points (5/7 from the field and 3/3 in free throws), 3 steals and 3 drawn fouls for 17 in efficiency in 12 minutes, her great performance wasn´t enough for Andreu Bou´s team to finally defeat Soller, losing 71 to 78.
The first game had Joventut Mariana Sóller playing at Palau D´Esports in la Seu D´Urgell after a very good preseason.
After a good start of the away team, in which they had the first differences, Paola Ferrari made her third foul and that together with Brittany Spears not being able to play, helped Cadí to recover. Cristina Garcia entered into the game in the second quarter and with 7 points in a row was a resistance to Astou Traore, leaving the boxscore 33 to 39 at half time.
In the second quarter, Blanca Garcia played her first minutes in Spanish 1st Division.
Sedis Cadí had a good third quarter, ending 53 to 57 the third quarter.
However, Sóller was best in the last quarter, mainly with Paola Ferrari (who score some three pointers) and Gabi Ocete leading their team to a 78 to 71 win.
Sedis Cadí will return this weekend to Girona, where they played the Catalan League Final last week and will try to get their first win against a strong Girona who competed very well against Ros Casares.
Sóller will have their first game at home, playing against Rivas Ecopolis, who defeated easily Burgos Josisa in the first game.
