Moriah Jefferson is an American international point guard born in 1994 with an excellent NCAA experience where she guided her University of Connecticut to win four consecutive Championships, while surpassing Diana Taurasi’s record as UConn’s all-time assist holder (659). Due to her success with UConn she was chosen as the 2nd pick of the 2016 WNBA Draft.

Moriah Jefferson’s career started at Texas Home Educators Sports Association where she won three consecutive championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011 of the National Christian Homeschool Basketball League.

Due to her success at high school level, Moriah Jefferson played for the U18 United States National Team, winning the Gold medal in the 2012 American Championship where she was the second best player in assists per game of the tournament (4.2apg), and another Gold medal in the U19 World Championship in 2013.

After finishing High School, Moriah Jefferson started to play for UConn in the 2012-13 season and exploded in her sophomore year as the starting point guard and averaging 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game, with a great 41.8% in 3 pointers. Moriah shone with 18 points against Louisville and she was close to do a triple-double in the win over University of South Florida.

In the 2014-15 season, Moriah Jefferson averaged 12.4 points, 4.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game, with an amazing 49.5% in 3 pointers. Furthermore, in that season she won the award of Most Improved Player of the Year and the award of the best point guard of the NCAA. In that year Moriah excelled with 25 points, 6 assists and 3 steals against Longhorns, with 24 points and 5 steals in 26 minutes against SMU and in the second game against the same college she achieved her first double-double of her career with 11 points and 10 assists.

In the summer of 2015 Moriah debuted for the United Stated National Team that competed in the Pan-American Games in Toronto where they won the Silver Medal. She averaged 12.2 points, 3.8 assists and was the third best player in assists per game of the tournament.

In the current season Moriah has had another great year averaging 12.6 points, 5.5 assists, 2.6 steals and +16.1 of efficiency per game, with an effective 43.1% in 3 pointers and an excellent 89.4% in free throws. Furthermore, she has won the award for Best Defensive Player of the Year and was again awarded Best Point Guard of the NCAA. Moriah shone with 25 points, 8 assists and 8 steals against Temple and she dished 9 assists against DePaul.
