Piti Hurtado is a spanish coach born in 1974 who began his career in the CB Caceres.

After two seasons as assistant in Cáceres in ACB League , where they reached the semifinals of the Copa del Rey and the 1/16 in the Korac Cup (now Eurocup ), Piti Hurtado was part of the staff of international scouting , in Utah University, in NCAA Div 1 in the 2002-2003 season.

Subsequently, from 2003 to 2005 he is the coach of Mérida in EBA League in Spain, achieving a creditable fifth place in the second year, to spend in the 2005-2006 season to become in assistant of Alfred Julbe in CAI Zaragoza in the LEB Gold where they were Regular Season Runner Up with 25 wins and 9 losses .

After a year as a teacher of basketball in the Federation, he returns  to Caceres 2016 CB in the 2007-2008 season, where he was General Manager and Head Coach in LEB Silver, reaching the semi-finals and then he is coaching the team from 2008 to 2010 in LEB Gold.

In 2010-2011 returns to join a project outside of Spain, as was the coaching consultant and scout for the Mexicali Soles, LNBP of Mexico and teaches basketball at the University of Baja California.

In 2012-2013 is part of the team of Marca TV in Euroleague as a commentator, and in 2013-2014 became the first Spanish coach who arrives to Japan, leading to Levanga Hokkaido to the tied 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, with 31 wins and 23 loss. With a team that had been the year before last in the standings, Piti Hurtado stayed just a step to get them into the playoffs for the title.

Piti Hurtado is also an expert in basketball videos, in their analysis and editing, and has become one of the leading experts in this field.
