Alex Anderson and Takia Starks sign with Catz

Catz Lappenranta continues building their 2011-12 roster and announces the signings of american power forward Alex Anderson, 39th pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft and with pro experience in Israel, Turkey and Spain (averaged 14,8 points and 8,5 rebounds in Arxil 2009-10) and also Takia Starks, american combo guard who starred at Texas A&M and played also for Perth Lynx in the Australian WNBL.

Catz, who will be again coached by Mika Haakana, is one of the top teams in Finland, being the Champion in 2008-09 and 2009-10 and runner up in 2010-11 after losing the Finals against Peka.

Alex Anderson is a 1,85m american power forward who after starring at Chattanooga was selected in the 39th pick of the 2008 WNBA Draft, previous step to playing professionally in Israel, Turkey and Spain.

Alex Anderson career begins at Chattanooga, where she averages 20,5 points and 10,1 rebounds per game in the 2006-07 season and 17,3 points and 8,7 rebounds in the 2007-08 season that make her First Team and Conference MVP before being drafted in the 39th position of the 2008 WNBA Draft by San Antonio Silver Stars.

Once her college career was over, Alex signed with  Hapoel Te-Aviv, in Israel first division, averaging 20,6 points and 9,5 rebounds per game before moving to turkish Ted Kayseri Kolejspor  where she averaged 8,6 points and 7,2 rebounds per game.

Alex Anderson began the 2009-10 season in Israel, playing for Raanana Hertzeliya where she averages 10,6 points and 9,8 rebounds before moving to Arxil Pontevedra in Spain where she averages 14,8 points 8,5 rebounds and 15,1 in efficiency per game.

Takia Starks is an american combo guard with a great college career at Texas A&M, where she averaged 15,8 points and 4,3 rebounds in her senior year and was First Team Big 12 Conference in 2007,2008 and 2009.

After playing for Westfield High School, Takia Starks joined Texas A&M in the 2005-06 season, and averaged 11,9 points 2,8 rebounds and 2,4 assists per game, being named in the Big 12 First Rookie Team.

Takia Starks averaged 14,2 points and 4,2 rebounds in the 2006-07 season (being Regular Season Champion), 16,3 points and 4,3 rebounds in 2007-08, 15,8 points and 4,3 rebounds in 2008-09, season in which she reached to the NCAA Sweet 16 and was named in the Big 12 First Team, same that she was in 2007 and 2008.

Once her college career was over and after not being finally WNBA Drafted, Takia Signed with Perth Lynx in Australian WNBL, averaging 11,7 points and 3,6 rebounds per game in the 2009-10 season.
